When we say the launch of Snowstorm Comics was years in the making, we aren’t speaking hyperbole. But believe me when I say, there are very few things in the world as exhilarating as seeing something you’re incredibly passionate about gradually come to fruition. When you’re at the ground floor, laying the foundation to something truly special, and you slowly see your dream come together, it’s intoxicating. So, our first blog post here at SSC is going to be a bit personal, and the message is a simple one: pursue your passion.
You may have realized we stated passion and not dreams. Dreams are the imaginative allure of a particular concept you highly value, but it’s mostly imaginative. As such, you often hear a person chase a “dream”, only to realize it wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be. When an artist originally decides to pursue art as an occupation, only to realize they lost the “fun” of art as it became a career, that’s a dream. Passion, is when you’re pouring blood, sweat, and tears towards a particular concept, and you’re constantly wantomg more. It’s a driving factor even through difficult times. We encourage everyone to find that passion in life, and pursue it with the diligence and perseverance it deserves.
You will run into road blocks. It may take much longer to reach the goal line than your peers. It may take months, years, or even decades. Do not put a time frame on your success. Instead, focus on the journey of improvement to reach that success. You will likely run into naysayers, trolls, and haters who wishes to discourage you on your path. It will be difficult to block them out, especially if the words come from someone close to you. But when you reach the other side, pushing through the trials and tribulations, you’ll be glad you did.
